GJ Renting Terms

When you rent from us we agree to enter into a legal contract together under the Terms & Conditions specified. Each contract works under the terms which we agree to, such as our promise to provide you with goods and/or a service and your promise to pay for it upfront. You should read our Terms & Conditions in full prior to booking your rental with us.

What you really need to know about renting from GJ Rentals

Renting at GJ Rentals is actually very simple. Here’s how it works and what it costs. That way you won’t be faced with any surprises afterwards.

Bring proof of identity with you

At GJ Rentals, we ask private customers who rent from us to identify who they are by providing a valid ID card with a passport photo. You are only allowed to rent equipment upon presentation of a valid passport, driving licence or identity card.

Deposits

You pay a deposit for each item you rent plus the cost of renting the item. The amount varies depending on the item. Have you returned the item to us in good condition? Then you will get the deposit back right away. We ensure that the deposit covers the full price of the item which is refundable upon receipt of the item back to us.

Items not returned

If an item is not returned on the due date and unless an agreement is made to extend the rental contract, you will automatically lose your deposit and banned from renting from us again.

Are there costs for cleaning, repair and wear and tear?

All machines and tools you rent from us are clean and in good working order when you collect them. We also expect you to return them clean and in good condition. If this isn’t the case, we may have to charge you for cleaning and/or repair costs afterwards.

Wear-and-tear accessories you hire with equipment, such as diamond blades and diamond drills, are charged based on a cost table. For sharpening hired items such as chain saw chains, chisels, drills and planers, we charge a one-off fixed rate.

How do we calculate the costs for consumables?

The costs for fuels such as petrol, kerosene, gas and diesel are calculated on the basis of actual consumption. We make sure you have plenty of fuel at the start of the rental.

Can I also have machines or tools delivered and collected?

Delivering equipment to your site and collecting it again is never a problem at GJ Rentals. Please remember that you pay a fee for the transport costs.

How are the prices calculated?

The prices stated on the website do not include costs for maintenance, fuel, oil, sharpening, wear, transport, cleaning and accessories.

What’s the difference between daily, weekly and weekend rates?

GJ Rentals lets you decide how long you rent equipment for. One day, a weekend, a week or longer? The longer you rent our equipment, the cheaper the rate. The total amount you end up paying is based on a maximum number of either rental hours or operational hours. And at weekends you rent at an even better rate.

RateMaximum rental period
Daily rate24 hours
Weekly rate168 hours
Weekend rate (Saturday – Monday)48 hours
Long-weekend rate (Friday – Monday)72 hours

Daily rate
When you rent equipment at the daily rate, you can use the tools or machines for up to 24 hours. Let’s say you pick up the equipment from us on Monday at 10.00 a.m., it needs to be returned no later than 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Weekend rate
At the weekend rate (Saturday – Monday) you hire the equipment for a maximum of 48 hours, and pay 2x the daily rate. Suppose you hire equipment at 10.00 a.m. on Saturday morning and you return it on Monday before 10.00 a.m., you only pay 2x the daily rate.

Long-weekend rate
You can also opt for the long-weekend rate (Friday – Monday). You rent the equipment for a maximum of 72 hours. In other words, if you hire equipment on Friday at 1.30 p.m. and return it on Monday before 1.30 p.m., you only pay 3x the daily rate.

Hour meter
Are you renting equipment with an hour meter? Then the daily rate is based on 8 operating hours. The weekly rate is based on 40 operating hours. If you use the equipment for more hours, you pay a surcharge based on actual costs.
